Karen Dotrice, born on November 9, 1955, in Guernsey, is a British actress, primarily known for her role as Jane Banks in the 1964 Disney classic *Mary Poppins*. The daughter of actor Roy Dotrice, she was discovered by a Disney talent scout and made her film debut in *The Three Lives of Thomasina* (1963). Worldwide success came with *Mary Poppins*, where she starred alongside Matthew Garber. The two young actors appeared together again in another Disney production, *The Gnome-Mobile* (1967). Her subsequent career was more limited, including appearances in television series such as *Upstairs, Downstairs*. She retired from acting in the early 1980s to focus on her family. In 2004, she was named a Disney Legend for her contribution to the company. She briefly returned to the big screen with a cameo in the film *Mary Poppins Returns* (2018), paying homage to her iconic past.
