Katharine Alexander was an American actress, primarily active on Broadway and in Hollywood films from the 1920s to the early 1950s. She began her career on the stage, becoming a prominent figure in Broadway theater, where she was acclaimed for her performances in plays such as "The Animal Kingdom" (1932). Her theatrical success led her to Hollywood in the early 1930s. In film, she specialized in supporting roles, often portraying sophisticated, elegant, high-society women or authoritative maternal figures. Her most notable films include *The Painted Veil* (1934), *Anna Karenina* (1935), *Stage Door* (1937), and *The Human Comedy* (1943).
