
Kathleen Comegys
Kathleen Comegys was an American actress, known primarily for her long and acclaimed stage career. A prominent member of the Theatre Guild, she appeared in numerous Broadway productions beginning in the 1920s. Her career is particularly associated with the works of playwright Eugene O'Neill, as she performed in significant roles in premiere productions such as *Strange Interlude* (1928), *Mourning Becomes Electra* (1931), and most notably, that of Essie Miller in the original production of *Ah, Wilderness!* (1933)—a role that defined part of her artistic identity. Although her work was primarily focused on the stage, she also appeared in supporting roles in film and television, including her performance in Ida Lupino's film *The Bigamist* (1953).
