Kevin Kline (St. Louis, October 24, 1947) is an American actor. A classically trained actor and a graduate of the Juilliard School, he has achieved prominence both on the Broadway stage and on the big screen. His stage career has been honored with three Tony Awards for his performances in both musicals and plays. He made his film debut in 1982 with *Sophie's Choice*, but it was with the 1988 comedy *A Fish Called Wanda* that he gained international acclaim, winning the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Otto West. His filmography includes successful films such as *The Big Chill* (1983), *Dave* (1993), and *In & Out* (1997), for which he has received several Golden Globe nominations. Recognized for his great versatility, Kline moves with ease from dramatic roles to sophisticated comedy and Shakespearean performances.
