Kotti Chave, born on September 18, 1911, in Helsinki and died on September 4, 1986, in Stockholm, was a Swedish actor of Finnish origin. A highly prolific character actor, his career spanned over five decades, from the 1930s to the 1980s, encompassing film, theatre, and television. He is best known for his supporting roles in numerous notable Swedish films. Among his most significant performances is his role in *Torment* (Hets, 1944), directed by Alf Sjöberg from a screenplay by Ingmar Bergman, in which he played a teacher. He also appeared in films such as *Raggare!* (1959) and collaborated again with Bergman on *The Devil's Eye* (Djävulens öga, 1960). Although he did not receive major individual awards, his contribution to Swedish cinema is recognized through his consistent presence in high-quality productions and his ability to effectively portray a wide range of supporting characters, making him a familiar and respected face in the national film and television landscape.
