
Kyara Uchida
Kyara Uchida (1973) is a Japanese actress, essayist, and singer, born in Tokyo. The daughter of rock musician Yuya Uchida and renowned actress Kirin Kiki, she began her career at a young age, gaining international recognition with Peter Greenaway's film *The Pillow Book* (1996). Her film career is characterized by measured and intense performances. Her most acclaimed role is in the film *Tokyo Tower: Mom and Me, and Sometimes Dad* (2007), which earned her the Japan Academy Prize for Best Actress, one of the highest honors in Japanese cinema.
