Gerlando Buzzanca, known as Lando (Palermo, 1935 – Rome, 2022), was an Italian actor. After some minor roles, he rose to public prominence with films by Pietro Germi, including *Divorce Italian Style* and *Seduced and Abandoned*. He became one of the most popular faces of Italian-style comedy, embodying the stereotype of the passionate and provincial Sicilian male between the late 1960s and the 1970s, an image cemented by hugely successful films such as *Il merlo maschio* (1971). His career also continued actively in theatre and, in his later years, on television, where he gained renewed popularity with series such as *Mio figlio* and the film *The Viceroys* (2007). Over the course of his career, he received several awards, including a special David di Donatello in 1971 for his popular success and the Globo d'oro for Lifetime Achievement in 2013.
