
Lars Passgård
Lars Passgård (1941-2003) was a Swedish actor, best known for his collaboration with director Ingmar Bergman. His most internationally acclaimed role was as Minus in the film *Through a Glass Darkly* (1961), which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. For his intense performance, Passgård, along with the other main actors, received the Silver Bear for Best Actor at the Berlin Film Festival. Another of his significant successes was Yngve Gamlin's *Jakten* (1965), a film that earned him the Best Actor award at the Cannes Film Festival. In addition to film, Passgård had a prolific stage career, working regularly at major institutions such as the Malmö City Theatre and the Dramaten, the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm. Over the course of his career, he appeared in more than thirty film and television productions, establishing himself as one of the most sensitive performers of his generation before retiring from acting in the 1980s.
