Laurence Badie (Boulogne-Billancourt, June 15, 1928 – Morlaix, January 11, 2024) was a French actress and voice actress, known for her distinctive high-pitched voice that characterized her long career. Active for over seventy years in film, theater, and television, she made her big-screen debut in the 1950s, gaining recognition in major films such as *Forbidden Games* (1952) by René Clément, *The Crossing of Paris* (1956) by Claude Autant-Lara, and *Muriel, or The Time of Return* (1963) by Alain Resnais. In parallel, she pursued a prolific stage career, also working under the direction of Sacha Guitry. Her popularity grew further thanks to television and especially voice acting, where she lent her iconic voice to the character of Velma Dinkley in the animated series *Scooby-Doo* and to Casper the ghost. For her stage work, she received a nomination for the prestigious Molière Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1993 for the play *Un couple infernal*.
