Leif Forstenberg
Leif Forstenberg, born in Sweden in 1932, is a Swedish engraver, illustrator, and designer, internationally known for his prolific work in the fields of philately and banknote design. His career is closely linked to the Swedish Post, for which he designed and engraved hundreds of stamps starting in the 1960s. His style is distinguished by its precision of line and extreme attention to detail, characteristics also evident in his creation of several Swedish banknotes. His contribution to philatelic art has received numerous international awards. Among the most significant are the prestigious Grand Prix de l'Art Philatélique, received in France in 1989, and the award for the "Most Beautiful Commemorative Series" in Germany in 1988. He has also won the Robert Stolz Trophy for the best music-themed stamp on multiple occasions, a testament to his versatility and recognized mastery in combining technique and artistic value in small formats.
