
Leonid Mozgovoy
Leonid Pavlovich Mozgovoy, born in 1941, is a Russian theater and film actor, known primarily for his intense collaboration with director Aleksandr Sokurov. His international fame is linked to his powerful portrayals of complex historical figures in Sokurov's "tetralogy of power." He portrayed Adolf Hitler in *Moloch* (1999) and Vladimir Lenin in *Taurus* (2001), as well as Anton Chekhov in the film *Kamen* (Stone, 1992), also by the same director. For his extraordinary performance in *Taurus*, Mozgovoy won the Nika Award for Best Actor, Russia's most prestigious film award, earning widespread critical acclaim. In addition to his film career, he worked for decades as a leading actor at the Komissarzhevskaya Theatre in Saint Petersburg, establishing himself as a prominent figure both on stage and on screen in the Russian artistic landscape.
