Liliane Princet

Liliane Princet (1934-2016) was a French painter and printmaker, a prominent figure in post-war Lyrical Abstraction. Associated with the Nouvelle École de Paris, her artistic research focused on the exploration of light, color, and matter. Through oil painting and printmaking techniques such as etching and aquatint, she created non-figurative works that evoke inner landscapes and natural suggestions. Her career was marked by consistent exhibition activity from the 1950s onwards, with participation in major exhibitions such as the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles and the Salon de Mai, as well as numerous solo exhibitions in France and abroad. She received several awards for her mastery of the graphic arts. Her works are held in prestigious public collections, including those of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France and the Musée d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, a testament to her contribution to 20th-century French abstract art.
