**Luminita Gheorghiu** (born 1949) is a Romanian actress and one of the most representative figures of New Romanian Cinema. Her film career has been marked by collaborations with prominent directors such as Cristian Mungiu, Cristi Puiu, and Călin Peter Netzer. She has gained international recognition for her intense and realistic roles.
Among her most famous performances is that of Doamna Doicu, the abortionist, in Cristian Mungiu's *4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days* (2007), a powerful role that cemented her fame. Other notable performances include Mrs. Câmpeanu in Cristi Puiu's *The Death of Mr. Lazarescu* (2005) and Cornelia in Călin Peter Netzer's *Child's Pose* (2013), for which she won the Golden Bear in Berlin.
