Lynne Perrie, born Jean Dudley (Rotherham, 7 April 1931 – 24 March 2006), was a British actress and singer. She began her career as a cabaret artist and singer in clubs in the north of England before gaining critical acclaim for her film debut as Mrs. Casper in Ken Loach's film *Kes* (1969). Although her performance in *Kes* remains a landmark of British cinema, Perrie achieved her greatest popularity playing Ivy Tilsley (later Brennan) in the soap opera *Coronation Street*. Joining the cast with sporadic appearances from 1971, she became a regular character from 1979 until 1994, making Ivy one of the show's most iconic and combative figures and becoming a familiar face to millions of viewers in the United Kingdom. Her career is primarily defined by these two roles, which attest to her versatility in both arthouse cinema and popular, long-running television.
