Macdonald Carey (1913-1994) was an American actor, known for his prolific film career from the 1940s to the early 1960s.

Specializing in roles as an affable, upright man or professional, Carey often portrayed doctors, lawyers, journalists, or authority figures, distinguishing himself with his sober and dependable presence.

Among his most significant film appearances are Alfred Hitchcock's *Shadow of a Doubt* (1943), where he played a detective, and the social drama *The Lawless* (1950). He also excelled in numerous Westerns, including *Whispering Smith* (1948) and *Streets of Laredo* (1949), establishing himself as a solid supporting actor and, occasionally, a leading man. Later, he achieved great television renown with the renowned soap opera *Days of Our Lives*.
