Madeleine Koehler is an American dancer, a Principal Dancer with The Royal Ballet in London. Born in Philadelphia, she trained at the Rock School for Dance Education and gained her first major recognition in 2015, winning the gold medal at the prestigious Prix de Lausanne. Her professional career began in 2016 when she joined the corps de ballet of The Royal Ballet. She rose quickly through the ranks, being promoted to First Artist in 2018, Soloist in 2021, First Soloist in 2022, and finally to Principal Dancer in 2024. Her repertoire includes the leading roles in major classical ballets, such as Odette/Odile in *Swan Lake*, the Sugar Plum Fairy in *The Nutcracker*, Kitri in *Don Quixote*, and Aurora in *The Sleeping Beauty*. In addition to the classical repertoire, she has danced in works by contemporary choreographers such as Crystal Pite, establishing herself as one of the most versatile performers of her generation.
