Madeline Kahn (1942-1999) was an American actress, comedian, and singer, known for her exceptional comedic talent and her training as an opera singer. She achieved international fame through her collaboration with director Mel Brooks, playing iconic roles in films such as *Blazing Saddles* (1974), *Young Frankenstein* (1974), and *High Anxiety* (1977). Her film career earned her two consecutive Academy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actress: the first for Peter Bogdanovich's *Paper Moon* (1973) and the second for *Blazing Saddles*. Her versatility also led her to excel in theater, where her work culminated in a 1993 Tony Award for Best Actress for her performance in the play *The Sisters Rosensweig*. Her career continued to span film, television, and the stage until her untimely death.
