Marcel Bozzuffi (Rennes, October 28, 1928 – Paris, February 1, 1988) was a French actor, voice actor, director, and screenwriter. Known for his rugged features and incisive screen presence, he specialized in roles as a criminal, police officer, or man of action, becoming one of the most recognizable character actors in European cinema. He achieved international fame for his role as the hitman Pierre Nicoli in William Friedkin's Academy Award-winning film *The French Connection* (1971), where he was featured in one of the most iconic chase scenes in cinema history. His filmography includes collaborations with leading directors such as Costa-Gavras in *Z* (1969) and Jean-Pierre Melville in *Second Breath* (1966). He also worked extensively in Italian cinema, distinguishing himself in films such as Francesco Rosi's *Illustrious Corpses* (1976) and in numerous *poliziotteschi* films. Although he did not receive major individual awards, his career was marked by his participation in internationally acclaimed works, which cemented his status as an actor of great depth.
