
Marcel Hillaire
Marcel Hillaire, born Erwin Ottmar Hiller in Cologne, Germany, was a character actor known for his portrayals of French characters in American film and television. After fleeing Nazi Germany, he settled in the United States, where he began his acting career. He is best remembered for his role as the Parisian cooking instructor in Billy Wilder's *Sabrina* (1954). His other notable film appearances include *Breakfast at Tiffany's* (1961) and Woody Allen's *Take the Money and Run* (1969). In television, he appeared in iconic series such as *The Twilight Zone*, *Combat!*, and *Hogan's Heroes*. Despite his German origins, his accent and demeanor made him a go-to actor for French roles, which became his trademark and the defining characteristic of his career. He was also an acting teacher.
