Margaret Barton (1926-2009) was a British character actress, particularly known for her prolific film career, especially during the golden age of Ealing Comedies. Specializing in supporting yet memorable roles, Barton excelled at portraying elderly women, secretaries, waitresses, or landladies, often with a touch of eccentricity or subtle wit.

Among her most significant contributions were classics such as *Kind Hearts and Coronets* (1949), where she played a D'Ascoyne family maid, *Passport to Pimlico* (1949), as Miss Clevedon, and *The Lavender Hill Mob* (1951), as the landlady Mrs. Wishart.
