**Margaret Livingston** (Salt Lake City, 1895 – Warrington, 1984) was an American actress, renowned for her silent film career. Known for her roles as a "femme fatale," seductive, mysterious, and often menacing women, she embodied the figure of the "vamp" of her time.

Her most iconic and memorable role was that of "The City Woman" in F.W. Murnau's silent masterpiece *Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans* (1927), where her ambiguous and magnetic performance is central to the plot. She also appeared in *What Price Glory?* (1926) and *Street Angel* (1928).

Although she made the transition to sound film, her career did not maintain the same momentum. She retired from acting in the early 1930s, leaving a distinctive mark on the silent era.
