Margit Carlqvist (Stockholm, 11 February 1932 – Stockholm, 1 March 2021) was a Swedish actress, a prominent figure in her country's cinema and theatre, primarily active between the 1950s and 1970s. She is best known internationally for her collaborations with director Ingmar Bergman, for whom she played significant roles in masterpieces such as *Smiles of a Summer Night* (1955), as Countess Charlotte Malcolm, and *The Virgin Spring* (1960), in which she portrayed the tormented Ingeri. Her career, however, was not limited to Bergman; she worked with other major Swedish directors and was an acclaimed stage actress, demonstrating great versatility. Although she did not receive major international awards, her status as a leading actress during the golden age of Swedish cinema is widely recognized by critics. She retired from acting in the late 1970s, leaving a lasting legacy in Nordic cinema.
