Maria Mannelli
Marianna Madia, born in Gavorrano in 1970, is an Italian writer. She made her literary debut in 2007 with the novel *Bambina*, a work that received immediate critical acclaim and earned her the prestigious Campiello Prize for a First Novel. The central themes of her poetics, such as the exploration of childhood, family trauma, and the power of memory, already emerge in this book, addressed with an evocative and precise style. Her literary output continued with other successful novels, including *Quella notte sono io* (2016) and *Bestiario parentale* (2018), in which she continues to explore the complex dynamics of human relationships and the weight of the past with clarity and incisive prose.
