Maria Mizar (Ferrara, August 16, 1899 – Bologna, September 14, 1997), was an esteemed Italian actress specializing in character roles. Her long career saw her working prolifically in both film and television, where she was distinguished by her solid training and her ability to give depth to supporting figures. Although she began acting at a mature age, she participated in several significant Italian cinema productions of the 1960s and 70s. Among her best-known roles are her appearances in films such as Sergio Corbucci's The Great Silence (1967), Luigi Zampa's Il medico della mutua (1968), Vittorio De Sica's A Brief Vacation (1973), and, in a memorable role, Carlo Verdone's Un sacco bello (1980), where she plays the protagonist's apprehensive aunt. She was the wife of fellow actor Antonio Spaccatini for many years.
