Marie Conmee is an Irish visual artist known for her abstract painting. Born in Longford, she trained at the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) in Dublin, where she earned a Master's in Fine Arts. Her artistic practice focuses on geometric abstraction and hard-edge painting, exploring the complex relationships between colour, form, and space. Through meticulously structured compositions, Conmee investigates the limits of perception and the interaction between two-dimensional elements and the illusion of depth. She has exhibited extensively in Ireland and internationally, in both solo and group exhibitions. Her work has been supported by several grants from the Arts Council of Ireland, and she has been nominated for prestigious awards, such as the Savills Art Prize. Her work is held in major public and private collections, including those of the Office of Public Works (OPW), Trinity College Dublin, and the Butler Gallery Collection, solidifying her position in the Irish contemporary art scene.
