Marilyn Buferd
**Marilyn Buferd (1925–1990)** was an American actress known for her brief but distinctive film career, which began after she was crowned Miss America in 1946.
She made her big screen debut in 1948, establishing herself mainly in B-movies and low-budget productions of the 1940s and early 1950s. Her elegant and often enigmatic appearance made her ideal for roles as mysterious, exotic women or femme fatales.
Among her best-known films are *Unknown Island* (1948), a classic monster and adventure film in which she played the female lead, and *The Sword of Monte Cristo* (1951). She often played supporting roles, adding a touch of glamour or suspense to the plots. Her stage presence was remarkable, although her film career ended around 1952.
