
Mario Alarcón
Mario Alarcón, born in Santiago, Chile in 1945, is a Chilean film, theater, and television actor, recognized as one of the most important and versatile figures of his generation. His career took off in the 1960s, as he established himself as a member of prestigious theater companies such as Teatro ICTUS and Teatro de la Universidad de Chile. Concurrently, he developed a prolific film and television career, appearing in iconic Chilean films like *El Chacal de Nahueltoro* (1969) and *La Frontera* (1991). His face also became familiar to the general public through his numerous appearances in popular television series. For his extraordinary contribution to the performing arts, he has received numerous accolades, most notably the National Prize for Performing and Audiovisual Arts of Chile (Premio Nacional de Artes de la Representación y Audiovisuales de Chile) in 2017, the highest honor in the sector in his country. He is considered one of Chile's most respected and influential performers.
