Mario Jannilli
Mario Jannilli (Rome, 1929 – Rome, 2000) was an Italian artist and illustrator, best known for his fundamental contribution to the comic series *Diabolik*. He began his career in the field of advertising and editorial illustration in the 1950s. In 1965, he joined the team of artists for the character created by the Giussani sisters, becoming one of its mainstays for over thirty years. His style, characterized by a clean, elegant line and meticulous attention to anatomical and environmental details, helped to define the classic iconography of the King of Terror. He penciled hundreds of issues of the regular series and numerous special editions, including the celebrated "Il Re del Terrore: Il Remake". For his long and influential career, he received several awards, including the Targa d'Argento (Silver Plaque) at the Lucca International Comics Festival in 1975 and the Anafi Award in 1996 for Best Artist, solidifying his status as a master of Italian comics.
