Mark Donovan
Mark Donovan, born in Penrith on 3 April 1999, is a British professional cyclist who specialises in stage races and is a strong climber. His career began to take shape in the youth categories, where he achieved notable results such as a fourth-place finish in the general classification of the 2018 Giro d'Italia Under 23. He turned professional in 2020 with Team Sunweb (later Team DSM), with which he has competed in all three Grand Tours, often distinguishing himself in breakaways on mountain stages. Although he has not yet secured a victory on the top-level circuit, his tenacity has enabled him to earn significant accolades. He has been riding for the Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team since 2023, and in the same year, he won the best young rider classification at the Tour of Britain, one of the most significant results of his professional career to date.
