Mark Metcalf is an American actor, born on March 11, 1946, in Findlay, Ohio. He is primarily known for portraying authoritarian and antagonistic characters. His most iconic role is that of the despotic Douglas C. Neidermeyer in the cult film *Animal House* (1978). He reprised a similar character in the celebrated Twisted Sister music videos, "We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock," solidifying his image in 1980s popular culture. On television, he gained significant visibility playing the Master, the main antagonist of the first season of the series *Buffy the Vampire Slayer*, and had a memorable role in the *Seinfeld* episode titled "The Maestro."
