Mark Strong, born Marco Giuseppe Salussolia in London on August 5, 1963, is a British actor of Italian and Austrian descent. His career began on the stage, where he earned significant recognition, winning the prestigious Olivier Award for Best Actor for his acclaimed performance in Arthur Miller's play *A View from the Bridge*. In film, he has distinguished himself with his ability to portray complex antagonists and authority figures, such as Lord Blackwood in Guy Ritchie's *Sherlock Holmes*, mob boss Frank D'Amico in *Kick-Ass*, and Doctor Sivana in *Shazam!*. He has also played iconic roles such as secret agent Jim Prideaux in the film *Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy* and the mentor Merlin in the *Kingsman* spy franchise.
