Martha Plimpton is an American actress and singer, born in New York City in 1970 to a family of actors, the daughter of Keith Carradine and Shelley Plimpton. She rose to prominence as a teenager in the 1980s, playing iconic roles in cult films such as *The Goonies* (1985), *The Mosquito Coast* (1986), and *Running on Empty* (1988).
