Martin Abrahams
Martin Abrahams is an American painter and illustrator, primarily known for his pioneering work in the field of illustrated trading cards for the Topps Company. His career took off in the 1960s, when he became one of the key artists behind the controversial and iconic *Mars Attacks* (1962) trading card series, for which he painted many of the alien invasion scenes that made it a cult phenomenon. Subsequently, he was a central figure in the development of the highly successful satirical series *Wacky Packages*, creating numerous illustrations that parodied mass-consumer products and defined the project's aesthetic for years. In addition to his work for Topps, which also includes contributions to *Garbage Pail Kids*, Abrahams has maintained a career as an artist, creating personal paintings in an often surreal and visionary style. His contribution to pop culture is widely recognized, and his original artwork is highly sought after by collectors and illustration enthusiasts.
