Martin Benson (1918-2010) was a British character actor, born in London. His long career, spanning over six decades, saw him specialize in roles as authoritarian figures, often antagonists or foreign characters, thanks to his distinctive physical features. He is particularly remembered for his portrayal of the American gangster Mr. Solo in the James Bond film *Goldfinger* (1964) and for the role of Kralahome in the classic musical *The King and I* (1956).
