Martin Müller, born in Krumbach on October 18, 1970, is a German manager and former footballer who played as a defender. Developed in the Bayern Munich youth system, he made his first-team debut with the club, winning two consecutive Bundesliga titles (1988-89 and 1989-90). The most significant period of his career was with Schalke 04, with whom he won his most important international honour, the UEFA Cup in the 1996-97 season. With the Gelsenkirchen-based club, he also added two consecutive German Cups to his list of honours (2000-01 and 2001-02). After also playing for 1. FC Nürnberg, he ended his playing career at 1. FSV Mainz 05, a club for which he later held managerial and youth coaching positions, contributing to the development of new talent.
