Matthew Garber (March 6, 1956 – June 13, 1977) was a British actor, best known for his roles as a child actor in Walt Disney Productions films. His brief but significant film career comprised only three films. He made his debut in 1963 in *The Three Lives of Thomasina*, but achieved international fame the following year playing the spirited Michael Banks in the celebrated classic *Mary Poppins* (1964), a role that established him in the public consciousness. His final film appearance was in *The Gnome-Mobile* (1967). In all three of his performances, he starred alongside actress Karen Dotrice. After retiring from acting, he died prematurely at the age of 21 from pancreatitis. For his contributions to film, in 2004 he was posthumously named a Disney Legend, the highest honor bestowed by The Walt Disney Company.
