Maurice Risch, born in Paris on January 25, 1943, is a French actor, best known for his comedic roles in film and theatre. Trained at the prestigious Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique, he achieved great popularity in the 1970s and 1980s, often alongside Louis de Funès in films such as *Le Grand Restaurant* (1966), *La Zizanie* (1978), and *Le Gendarme et les Extra-terrestres* (1979), where his portrayal of the clumsy gendarme Beaupied remains iconic. His film career includes numerous other popular comedies, in which he often portrayed naïve, clumsy, or flustered characters. Concurrently, he maintained a prolific career in boulevard theatre, earning significant recognition in 1992 when he won the Molière Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in Georges Feydeau's *La Dame de chez Maxim*. His physical comedy and his ability to portray eccentric characters have made him a recognizable and esteemed figure in French cinema and theatre.
