
Maury Chaykin
Maury Chaykin (1949-2010) was an American-born Canadian actor, known for his prolific career as a character actor in film and television. His filmography includes memorable roles such as Major Fambrough in "Dances with Wolves" (1990) and appearances in cult films such as "WarGames" (1983) and "My Cousin Vinny" (1992). He was a frequent collaborator of director Atom Egoyan, appearing in acclaimed works such as "The Sweet Hereafter" (1997). On television, he achieved great success starring as the brilliant lead detective in the series "A Nero Wolfe Mystery" (2001-2002) and had a recurring role as producer Harvey Weingard in "Entourage". His versatility earned him numerous accolades throughout his career, including two Genie Awards, Canada's most important film award, one of which was for Best Actor for "Whale Music" (1994), and a Gemini Award for his television work.
