Michael Tolan, born Seymour Tuchow (Detroit, November 27, 1925 – Hudson, January 31, 2019), was an American actor and producer. His career spanned theatre, film, and television, beginning in the 1950s. He debuted on Broadway, where he distinguished himself in productions such as "A Hatful of Rain," earning a Theatre World Award in 1956. On the big screen, he is known for his roles in films such as "The Greatest Story Ever Told" (1965), as Lazarus, "John and Mary" (1969), and Bob Fosse's "All That Jazz" (1979). In television, his portrayal of Senator Jordan Boyle in the series "The Senator" (part of "The Bold Ones") earned him an Emmy Award nomination in 1971. He also appeared in popular series such as "Mission: Impossible" and "The Mary Tyler Moore Show." In addition to acting, he was the co-founder of the American Place Theatre, an important Off-Broadway institution dedicated to promoting new American playwrights.
