**Michèle Morgan (1920-2016)**, born Simone Roussel, was an iconic French actress of transalpine cinema, celebrated for her blue eyes and melancholic elegance.

She rose to stardom in the 1930s, often portraying sensitive, strong, and tormented women. Her most famous role is undoubtedly Nelly in Marcel Carné's **"Quai des Brumes" (Port of Shadows, 1938)**, opposite Jean Gabin, which consecrated her as a romantic icon of pre-war cinema. Other successes from that period include "Le Récif de Corail" and "Remorques."

After a brief period in Hollywood, she returned to France, where her career continued to flourish. She won the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival for **"La Symphonie Pastorale" (Pastoral Symphony, 1946)**.
