
Mimi Brănescu
Mimi Brănescu, born on March 31, 1974, in Făget, is a Romanian actor, screenwriter, and playwright, and one of the most representative figures of the Romanian New Wave. His acting career is marked by collaborations with prominent directors such as Cristi Puiu and Radu Muntean. His most notable performances include roles in internationally acclaimed films such as *The Death of Mr. Lăzărescu* (2005), *Boogie* (2008), *Tuesday, After Christmas* (2010), and *Sieranevada* (2016), where he showcases a naturalistic and intense acting style. In addition to his acting career, Brănescu has developed a significant body of work as a screenwriter and playwright. He wrote the screenplay for films like *One Floor Below* (2015) and has authored numerous successful plays. In 2021, he made his directorial debut with *Complet Necunoscuți*, an adaptation of the Italian film *Perfect Strangers*. His multifaceted talent has been recognized with several awards, including numerous Gopo Awards, Romania's most important film honor, both as an actor and a screenwriter.
