
Monica Bîrlădeanu
Monica Bîrlădeanu, born in Iași on December 12, 1978, is a Romanian actress. After beginning her career as a model and television presenter, she gained international recognition for her role in the film *The Death of Mr. Lăzărescu* (2005), a key work of the Romanian New Wave. She later moved to Los Angeles, appearing in American productions, including the television series *Lost* and films such as *Labor Pains* (2009). Her career also developed significantly in Italy, where she acted in notable films such as *Vallanzasca – Angels of Evil* (2010), directed by Michele Placido, and *Diaz – Don't Clean Up This Blood* (2012), directed by Daniele Vicari. For her lead performance in the drama *Francesca* (2009), she won the Gopo Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, Romania's most prestigious film award. She continues to be a prominent figure in Romanian television and cinema, appearing in highly successful series and films.
