Mykola Hryhorovych Hrynko (Ukrainian: Микола Григорович Гринько; Kherson, May 22, 1920 – Kyiv, April 10, 1989) was a Soviet actor of Ukrainian origin. His career is inextricably linked to his collaboration with director Andrei Tarkovsky, for whom he played memorable roles in five films: *Ivan's Childhood* (1962), *Andrei Rublev* (1966), *Solaris* (1972), where he played the protagonist's father, *Mirror* (1975), and *Stalker* (1979), as the Professor. In addition to his partnership with Tarkovsky, Hrynko had a prolific career in Soviet cinema, appearing in over 150 films. He was particularly beloved for his roles in children's films, such as Papa Carlo in *The Adventures of Buratino* (1975). His performances, characterized by a profound humanity and a quiet melancholy, earned him widespread popularity. In 1973, he was awarded the title of People's Artist of the Ukrainian SSR, the republic's highest artistic honor.
