Nadir Sarıbacak

Nadir Sarıbacak is a Turkish actor, known for his intense performances and his collaborations with director Nuri Bilge Ceylan. After obtaining a master's degree in acting from Bahçeşehir University, he began a prolific career in both theater and cinema. His filmography is marked by significant roles in important works of Turkish arthouse cinema. He has acted in several of Ceylan's films, including *Uzak* (2002), the Palme d'Or winner *Kış Uykusu* (Winter Sleep, 2014) as Imam Hamdi, and *Ahlat Ağacı* (The Wild Pear Tree, 2018). One of his most acclaimed performances was in Tolga Karaçelik's 2015 film *Sarmaşık* (Ivy), for which he won the Best Actor award at the Antalya International Film Festival. Sarıbacak is appreciated for his ability to embody complex and psychologically layered characters, making him one of the leading figures in contemporary Turkish cinema.
