Nancy Kyes, also known professionally as Nancy Loomis, is an American actress and costume designer, best known for her collaborations with director John Carpenter. She began her collaboration with Carpenter in the action film *Assault on Precinct 13* (1976). However, her most iconic role is that of Annie Brackett in the seminal horror film *Halloween* (1978), which established her as one of the most recognizable "scream queens" of the era. She continued her collaboration with the director, playing Sandy Fadel in *The Fog* (1980) and Linda Challis in *Halloween III: Season of the Witch* (1982). In addition to her acting career, she also worked in the costume department for film productions. After a few minor roles, Kyes retired from acting in the early 1990s to focus on her family and sculpture, leaving a lasting legacy in genre cinema as a cult figure.
