
Nerio Bernardi
Nerio Bernardi (Bologna, 23 July 1899 – Rome, 12 January 1971) was an Italian actor and voice actor. His long career began in the theatre, and he went on to become one of the leading stars of Italian silent cinema, thanks to successful performances such as his in *Il fornaretto di Venezia* (1923). With the advent of sound, he brilliantly made the transition, becoming one of the most appreciated and prolific character actors in both national and international cinema. His filmography, which includes over two hundred titles, features collaborations with leading directors such as Alessandro Blasetti, for whom he acted in *La corona di ferro* (1941) and *La cena delle beffe* (1942), and Federico Fellini, who directed him in *I vitelloni* (1953). Gifted with a refined voice and impeccable diction, he was also an active voice actor, lending his voice to numerous foreign actors. In recognition of his overall artistic career, he was awarded a Special Nastro d'Argento in 1954, a testament to his significant contribution to Italian cinema.
