Neville Brand
Neville Brand (1920-1992) was an American actor, known for his prolific career and for his portrayal of tough and often villainous characters. His tough-guy image was partly forged by his experience as one of the most decorated soldiers of World War II. He emerged in post-war cinema with memorable roles in film noirs such as *D.O.A.* (1950) and in the war classic *Stalag 17* (1953), where he played Sergeant "Duke". His leading performance in *Riot in Cell Block 11* (1954) earned him a BAFTA nomination for Best Foreign Actor, one of his most significant accolades. On television, he became famous for portraying Al Capone in the series *The Untouchables* and for the role of Ranger Reese Bennett in the western series *Laredo*. His career, which includes over one hundred film and television appearances, continued into the 1980s, solidifying his reputation as a versatile and reliable character actor.
