
Nicodim Ungureanu
Nicodim Ungureanu is a Romanian theater and film actor, born on November 24, 1960, in Cernăuți, now in Ukraine. He graduated in 1988 from the "I.L. Caragiale" Institute of Theatre and Film Arts in Bucharest and became a prominent figure at the "Marin Sorescu" National Theatre in Craiova, where he has performed numerous roles in a vast classical and contemporary repertoire. His film career is closely linked to the Romanian New Wave, with appearances in internationally acclaimed films such as 'The Death of Mr. Lăzărescu' (2005) by Cristi Puiu, 'California Dreamin' (unfinished)' (2007), and 'Aferim!' (2015), directed by Radu Jude, which won the Silver Bear in Berlin. Known for his versatility and ability to bring complex and intense characters to life, he is distinguished by his strong stage presence. Among the awards he has received, the prestigious 2004 UNITER Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the play 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' stands out.
