Nikita Kamaev
Nikita Olegovich Kamaev (July 17, 1963 – February 14, 2016) was a Russian sports executive, primarily known for his role as Executive Director of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) from 2011 to 2015. His career was inextricably linked to the major state-sponsored doping scandal in Russia. Under his direction, RUSADA was accused by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) of being complicit in the systematic manipulation and cover-up of anti-doping tests for Russian athletes. Following these accusations, Kamaev resigned from his position in December 2015, along with other senior officials of the agency. After his resignation, he began working on a book with the intention of revealing the "true story" of doping in Russia. He died suddenly in February 2016 from a suspected heart attack, less than three months after his resignation and before his work could be published. He is not associated with any official recognitions but is remembered as one of the central figures in the Russian doping crisis.
