Olga Breno, pseudonym of Aurelia Josz (Florence, 1862 – Milan, 1938), was an Italian writer, journalist, and educator, a prominent figure in the field of women's education and professionalization between the 19th and 20th centuries. Her career was focused on promoting the role of women in society through practical education. To this end, in 1902 she founded and directed the Niguarda Practical School of Agriculture for Women, a pioneering institution that offered scientific training in agriculture and home economics. Her most famous work is "Il libro della massaia" (The Housewife's Book) (1910), a manual that went beyond the traditional cookbook to become a comprehensive guide to the scientific management of the home, from hygiene to accounting. The book achieved enormous success, going through dozens of editions and establishing itself as a fundamental text for generations of women. A prolific author, she published numerous articles and essays. For her work in education, she received significant recognition, including the gold medal at the 1911 Turin International Exposition.
